To Be Heard Review

I recently watched the film "To Be Heard" by Edwin Martinez, Roland Legiardi-Laura, Deborah Shaffer, Amy Sultan, Adrian Martinez and Maisha Winn. Its about three teenagers living in the ghettos of New York City dealing with poverty and family issues; along with how they deal with their issues through poetry. Without poetry they wouldn't have been able to survive through it all. I really enjoyed the film because even though I don't have it as bad, whenever i get stressed out I write rhymes to to air it all out.

Jawsh Bio

Joshua grew up in Brooklyn, he is an only child in his house, but has 2 half brothers and 1 half sister from his fathers side. Even though Joshua grew up in Brooklyn, he currently attends New design high school in Lower East Side Manhattan and is in his senior year. Even though his name is Joshua, everybody calls him Josh, but with the New York accent it sounds more like Jawsh. I enjoy swimming, dancing, boxing, socializing and partying with my friends.

How Do I Feel ?

Mama been teaching me how to be a man
but somethings you learn can never be taught
father been there but never was
people say I'm lucky to have a father
but how is it any different having a father who aint there ?
three person household
but raised by a single mother
there is never peace
when you live with fire and ice
you either get burned
or frozen
so pick your torture
I wander in the night
trying to look for a flight
love it when i have the free
but i never truly seem to be happy
so how do you expect me
so how do you expect me to feel
when your eyes are glossy
from too much liquor
and way too many tears
How do I feel ?
